Town of Windsor Hazard Mitigation Plan

On September 16, 2026, the Town Council approved the 2026 Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Volume 1 and the Town of Windsor Annex included in Volume 2.  A Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies potential hazards that a planning area is most vulnerable to, assesses risk to populations, property, and critical facilities, and includes a mitigation strategy to reduce risks.

The Town of Windsor partnered with the County of Sonoma and 20 other Sonoma County municipalities and special districts to update the 2021 Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Volume 1 includes elements that apply to the entire planning area, such as the planning process, public involvement strategy, goals and objectives, planning area risk assessment and capabilities assessment, and a plan maintenance strategy.

Volume 2 includes the plan (“annex”) specific to each of the 22 participating jurisdictions, including the Town of Windsor.
