Overview

The Town of Windsor Building Division is responsible for the enforcement of the California Building Standards Code (California Code of Regulations, Title 24), Windsor Municipal Code, and other relevant codes. The California Building Code provisions provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all buildings and structures and certain equipment. These objectives are accomplished through plan review, permit issuance, and inspection procedures.  

The Building Division strives to provide excellent customer service and responsiveness to Town of Windsor residents and project applicants. 

Building Permit Submittals

Submittals are accepted electronically, for more information please e-mail:  buildingpermits@townofwindsor.ca.gov.

Counter Hours:

Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. or by appointment

Building Inspections

Inspections are conducted Monday through Thursday. Inspections may be scheduled online via eTRAKiT or by texting our inspection scheduling line at 877-813-1904.

Hours of Construction:

Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.  

Saturday 8 a.m. -7 p.m.

No work allowed on Sunday; unless expressly authorized by the Building Official
